November is Literacy Month. Saturday, November 4th, from 1:00-3:00 pm, we invite families to join us for a family game day at Evergreen's Story Walk. We are going to have ten tables as activity stations.
As for volunteers, I need
- At least 4 volunteers in different parts of the park welcome the families and give them information about the various activities. Also, to encourage them to start on the path where the Story Walk is so that they can read the book together as a family. At the last post of the path, they will have a ticket to participate in a gift card drawing. Then they will be encouraged to join the other activities.
- At least five volunteers cheer on families as they move from one page of the book to the next to give them encouragement and joy. 1 volunteer on every fourth page of the book.
- At least ten volunteers, one helping at each station. I need at least nine who, if possible, are bilingual.
- If no agencies can run your station, I have games that I need volunteers to run the station. The games are easy, like hopscotch, throwing a ball to the letter z, and games like that.
- At least 10 volunteers setting up: putting 10 tables and 20 chairs in the park. Filling up helium balloons and tied them on the tables.
- At least 10 volunteers tear down and making sure there’s no trash.
Email me at lizb@ksu.edu what task number you chose to do as a volunteer at the event. If you need a signature on a form, bring the form that day.
Thank you,
-Liz
