To honor, celebrate and remember veterans this Memorial Day, your United Way is inviting the community to be part of “Flags of Freedom,” a grand, two-week display of American flags. The IAM District Lodge #70 field at I-235 and S. Meridian Ave. will be transformed into a sea of red, white and blue from Sunday, May 16, to Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, to recognize those who have served our country.
To help achieve this tribute to our Veterans and honor each with flag we are looking for volunteers to help us prepare and assemble the flags. This opportunity is open to individuals/organizations and community services groups.
Project details: Attach zip-ties to each flag and then to PVC pipe. Setting rebar and posting each flag.
