Pumpkins at the Park is by far the largest special event we put on each year. In fact, we need approximately 100 volunteers per night for the event to work. All of the funds raised by this event go straight into our Winter Fund to help feed the rare and endangered animals in our care over the winter!
Here are all the important details for prospective volunteers:
Dates Available: Friday 10/18, Saturday 10/19, Sunday 10/20, Friday 10/25, Saturday 10/26, and Sunday 10/27
Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 14 to attend without a parent/guardian. Volunteers 11 to 13 may attend with a parent or guardian age 18 or older. Volunteers under 14 may be limited in what positions they can fill.
Times: 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm (must attend for the full shift)

Cage Maze of Doom (orientation required)
Hayride (orientation required)
Stage Show (orientation required)
Costumed Characters (orientation required)
Attractions (e.g Bounce House, Land-o-Giants, 3-D Maze)
Zombie Laser Tag
Availability: Volunteers must commit to at least one full shift. Actors for scripted roles MUST be available all 7 nights. Actors for improv roles may have more limited availability.
Acting Roles: We will be offering several scripted and improv acting roles again this year. I am looking to fill approximately 30 acting roles per night! If you are interested in acting with us, an Orientation session is required. These sessions will go over general rules for actors, what the different positions entail, and some activities to help place you in the role that best suits your strengths and preferences. Actor Orientation sessions are scheduled for:
- Thursday, September 19th, 6 pm to 8 pm
- Sunday, September 22nd, 1 pm to 3 pm
- Thursday, September 26th, 6 pm to 8 pm
- Saturday, September 28th, 1 pm to 3 pm
You only need to attend one session and all actors that attend will be guaranteed a role in the show! You DO NOT need to sign up in advance, though it is preferable!
We are also looking to hire a small number of PAID actors for our more intensive roles (e.g. the stage show, iconic characters, and Escape Rooms).
