If you're committed to giving a couple hours a week and want to impact a child's life, we have an ongoing need for volunteers like you at our Andover, East, Eldorado, Farha Sport Center (Andover & South), Newton, North, Northwest, South and West YMCA.
Coach/facilitate practices and games while providing a safe environment for youth to learn, grow and develop through various sports. Attend coaches meetings and related functions. Contact all team members and inform them of practice times and dates as well as pass out materials to parents when necessary. Maintain equipment and materials in an orderly and safe manner. Exhibit an positive and encouraging attitude.
Prior experience is helpful as well as general knowledge of sport being coached. Must enjoy working with and relating to children at a particular skill and age level. Must be eager to instruct, motivate, and be a positive role model and fully support the YMCA Youth Sports Philosophy. Because the safety of our children and members is extremely important to us, the Y reserves the right to conduct background and reference checks on all volunteers.
