Project Description:
Botanica is creating a collaborative community art piece that will be displayed in the gardens during the last week of April. This vibrant installation will be made from hundreds of fabric strips tied to a large wooden panel, adding color and texture to our spring displays. We're inviting a small group of volunteers to help bring this vision to life!
Volunteer Tasks:
Cut fabric into strips 2 inches wide by 1 yard long
Tie completed fabric strips to a prepared wood panel
Work alongside staff members and other volunteers to complete the panel
No artistic experience required—just a willingness to help!
Date & Time:
Friday, April 11th
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location & Check-In:
Please check in at the Admissions Desk at Botanica. A staff member will guide you to the project area and provide instructions and materials.
Volunteers Needed:
We’re seeking 5–10 volunteers for this project.
Tools & Materials:
All necessary tools and supplies will be provided, including measuring tapes, scissors, and pre-cut fabric.
Physical Requirements:
This project involves light physical activity including standing, measuring, cutting, and tying. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
Impact:
Your contributions will be part of a large-scale garden display enjoyed by thousands of Botanica visitors this spring! This project is a fun, hands-on way to be involved in the garden's creative expression.
