We are looking for volunteers to help operate the large-scale model trains at Botanica. This role involves both running the trains and interacting with visitors in a relaxed outdoor setting. No prior experience with trains is needed—just an interest in engaging with guests and being part of the garden’s atmosphere.
Beginning March 15th, the trains will run seven days a week from 9 AM to 8 PM (weather permitting). Volunteer shifts are typically three hours long, and you may sign up for as many as you’d like. While we have openings every day, Saturdays are especially important, as they tend to be the busiest and hardest to staff.
If you’re interested, you’re welcome to shadow a current operator first to see if the role is a good fit. If you decide to continue, you’ll have the opportunity to train alongside an experienced operator until you feel confident taking a shift on your own.
