Who We Are

“You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can impact a life.”  - Zig Ziglar

Our Volunteers work with students of all ethnicities and ages to improve skills in math, reading, writing, digital literacy, English language literacy, and employment. Students in our Adult Education classes are

  • preparing for the GED (high school equivalency diploma) or placement testing to enter college (Accuplacer),
  • taking refresher subjects before starting or returning to college, and
  • refugees and immigrants learning how to speak, read, write, and listen to English.

Our students may be as young as 16 and left school for a variety of reasons. Some are older and as their children reach high school, these parents want to set a standard for their children by finishing their high school diploma. Some just come because it has been many years since attending school and they want to learn new information or find a different career.

Class times include mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Locations include classes at Butler's El Dorado and Andover campuses as well as Wichita locations including the Butler Service Center in southeast Wichita, Workforce Center in northwest Wichita, and at the Wichita Indochinese Center in the heart of Wichita.

We can also schedule one-day volunteer groups to help with larger projects such as painting, parking lot clean up, leaf clean up, window washing, and more.

What We Do

Informational meetings can be scheduled individually to introduce potential volunteers to our Volunteer Program and answer your questions about volunteering.
