Neighborhood Cleanup

Who We Are

The Neighborhood Cleanup Program provides a City-funded event to dispose of bulky waste for eligible neighborhoods. These cleanups represent an annual opportunity (typically from April to October) for neighborhoods to organize themselves and improve the conditions of their surroundings. These events occur on Saturdays from 8 am to noon (except for holidays).

  • Neighborhoods are responsible for getting volunteers, disseminating information to neighbors, and organizing the event. A volunteer sign-up sheet and map of clean-up boundaries must be completed and submitted as a pdf with the application.

  • City staff will not be available to monitor neighborhood clean-ups.

  • If you do not live in a Neighborhood Association (NA), you can still apply for a cleanup for as small as a 6-block area.

  • Training is highly recommended for all program participants regardless of past experience.

  • Volunteers are needed! Complete this form https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/f9b4c3c21aa94fad84a7c2ac2e5b82a3 or reach out to District 4 Community Services Representative Brooke Kauchak at bkauchak@wichita.gov or 316-268-4197 to learn more!
