ShowerUp Wichita

We provide mobile showers to those currently experiencing homelessness. Each person who showers receives a hygiene kit, towel, washcloth, socks & underwear. We also provide other donated items when available. We are 100% volunteer based. The volunteer roles are: 

-Shower List Manager: You will manage the shower list. When someone wants to get a shower, you can put their name on the list and then assign them to a particular shower when it's ready. 

-Table: Working the tables at a ShowerUp event is a great way to interact with our guests. At our tables, you will hand guests towels, shower kits, and other toiletries. You will also pass out other needed items like socks and underwear, and any other items that we have to give away.

-Shower Prep Crew: You will be helping to make our guests feel truly loved by preparing the shower space for them. We like to say that we never clean up AFTER anyone, we PREPARE the space for the next person. As part of the Shower Prep Crew, you will go into the shower in between guests and spray the shower and sink with our cleaning solution, wash down the shower and squeegee the shower pan, and then wipe down the sink. It's a very hands-on way to be involved and to show our guests that they are valued and loved. We supply everything you need and no experience is needed. 

 -Bring drinks/treats: This is one of those very special ways to serve. It's always great when someone wants to bring some coffee, hot chocolate, soda, tea, lemonade, gatorade or any other beverages for our friends. Treats are also great! Brownies, cookies, donuts...you name it! Please plan on enough for at least 30 people and please bring anything you need to serve including table, cups, cream and sugar, napkins, plates, etc.
