Volunteer: Our Daily Bread Food Pantry Data Entry & Client Intake

Our Daily Bread Food Pantry provides food to families in need. 

Data entry volunteers greet clients, take them through a client information form and enter completed forms into our database. Data entry volunteers must be comfortable with computers and willing to learn our database. This is a client facing position.

Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and every 4th Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Food distribution volunteers pack food into bags, stock shelves, check clients in, and load client cars. Ability to bend, crouch, stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 10 lbs required. Volunteers in this position may work outside in all types of weather.

Volunteer: Harbor House Weekend Meal Provider

Harbor House provides outreach services and a safe, 24/7 shelter for survivors of domestic abuse.

Weekend meal providers donate, prepare, and serve meals for about 40 clients for lunch and dinner on the weekends. Great opportunity for families or church groups; commitment to one meal every two months appreciated.

Serving food to clients is not required and you may drop it off for shelter staff to serve.

Volunteer: Foster Grandparent Classroom Volunteer

Become a classroom volunteer today through the AmeriCorps Senior Foster Grandparent Program at Catholic Charities! Seniors (ages 55+) spend time in early learning centers, public/parochial schools, and shelters across the county to build relationships with students to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.  Volunteers receive a tax-free stipend, mileage reimbursement, paid training, and the opportunity to join a community of like-minded senior volunteers! This is a great opportunity for seniors who enjoy working with children to give back to their community!

 

Volunteers work 15-40 hours per week with flexible scheduling.  Volunteers in this position must pass a background check and take a three-hour class called Virtus, which teaches adults the signs of child abuse and neglect as well as the best practices Catholic Charities follows to protect youth and vulnerable adults in our ministries and schools that work with the Foster Grandparent program.
