Flags of Freedom Volunteer Opportunities
Flags of Freedom is a grand display of 600 American flags, hosted by United Way of the Plains and IAM & AW District Lodge #70, to honor, celebrate and remember veterans this Memorial Day. Flags will be on display Monday, May 11th, through Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th, in the field at IAM District Lodge #70, located at 3830 S. Meridian Ave. (I-235 and S. Meridian Ave.).
Volunteers are invited to help assemble and take down the field of flags. We need a lot of hands over several days in May to make this event successful. These opportunities will take place outside, in the morning sun and will be labor intensive. Volunteers should plan to dress appropriately for these conditions.
