Opportunities From: United Way of the Plains Volunteer Center

Volunteer: Tutoring at Northwest High School

Northwest students have an opportunity for free after-school tutoring on Thursdays from 3:30-5:30. Volunteers would help tutor students in the subjects they feel most comfortable with. In addition to tutoring, volunteers will also provide students with community connections and perspectives about future opportunities, as well as a broader worldview.

This will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursdays when school is in session.

Individuals do not have to be available for the full 2 hours or for every date. Northwest site coordinators will work with volunteers to identify their availability before tutoring begins. Specific needs include tutors comfortable in the 4 core subject areas: Science, Math, History, and Language Arts.

All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer registration form with Wichita Public Schools before starting their volunteer work. This will include a background check. https://www.usd259.org/volunteerregistration
